1865 NY Census now on-line

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS) have added the 1865 New York State census to their on-line collection.

NY State place names

I got a new version of the RootsMagic genealogy program about 6 weeks ago or so.  One of the changes that was made from version 3 was to place names. It added a field called “place details” to the place names. You are now supposed to use place only for the city, county, etc. and …

1892 NY Census online

The LDS is going to start indexing the whole New York State census of 1892. They haven’t started indexing as of yet but I found that they already have the census pages online.
