Really, this is a commercial.
For the last few years I have had a link to some genealogy books from Amazon.com (over at the left). I get a very small percentage if you go any buy anything, be it books or other items. So far in 3 1/2 years I have earned less than a dollar. So if you are thinking of buying anything from Amazon.com this gifting season either click on the two links in this post or any of the books over on the left. Note; you don’t have to buy the book that you click on nor any book.
Now that you have read the commercial… I’ll tell you how to save some money. One of the popular gifts from Amazon this year will be the Kindle (book reader). There are apps for many devices that will make them act like a Kindle so you don’t have to buy the Kindle. Best yet, the apps are free. Versions of the app will work on a PC, MAC, iPhone, iPad, Android, BlackBerry or Windows phone. Go to this web page to download the version of the app for your computer or device. You will still have to buy the e-books from Amazon but they are always priced cheaper than paper books. You can also download free e-books in Kindle format from the Monroe Library System if you have a local library card. Start on this web page for more information on free e-books.
