History in the making…

On Thursday, the Democrat & Chronicle website had this story about 3 companies that are leasing space in Eastman Business Park (formerly Kodak Park). NY-Best, Cerion and Natcore are very happy to find a place to grow that has so many good amenities. Also on that web page is a video tour of part of the Eastman Business Park. Cameras aren’t normally allowed in the Park so this is a must view for anyone in the Rochester area. Kodak still has a lot of good space available for sale or  for lease. There are also huge empty parking lots for sale outside the Park gates.

On Friday, the US  International Trade Commission (ITC) ruled against Kodak on a suit against Apple and Research In Motion (RIM). Kodak had said that the Apple iPhone 3G and RIM BlackBerry devices infringed on Kodak’s patents involving digital image previews. Kodak had also said that Apple had owned them over $1 billion in patent royalties. Kodak say they will appeal this negative ruling.

A new alliance between Kodak and Greeting Card Universe was announced this week. People will be able to create a specialized greeting card on-line from over 500,000 designs and then print and pick up the card at one of the 105,000 Kodak kiosks in retail stores including most Target stores.

In India, Kodak has added new Wedding Collections to available printing services. You can create everything from invitations to a memory book of the wedding and even thank you cards. It is currently available in select cities.
