History in the making…
Kodak announced a new scanning and workflow product this week called “Info Activate Solution.” It is for businesses that want to quickly move paper documents to digital format. This product works in conjunction with Microsoft’s “SharePoint 2010.” Microsoft says that SharePoint “can set up Web sites to share information with others, manage documents from start to finish, and publish reports to help everyone make better decisions.”
On Wednesday Kodak announced a 30% worldwide reduction to their IT Department that will done by the end of September. That means that about 100 people in Rochester and another 300 around the rest of the planet will be losing their jobs. This is undoubtedly related to the expected sale of the document imaging division.
The Kodak digital imaging patent sale has been moved back again. Now slated to happen on Sept. 19th.
