Many Rochester area Kodak employees got their lay-off notices on Tuesday. Kodak wouldn’t give a specific number. Most were probably employees related to the home inkjet printer business that Kodak has decided to discontinue.
On Monday, Kodak announced that they would discontinue their black & white T-MAX P3200 Professional film that was introduced in 1988. This super fast speed film was also very grainy but could take photos in very low light. Kodak said that low sales volume was responsible for it being discontinued.
For some unknown reason, the price of Kodak stock rose this week. It started around 18½ cents per share and ended the week at about 23¾ cents. Although that is just a few cents it is about a 28% increase for the week.
