Happy July Fourth!
This holiday makes me think of my ancestors Matthew Halsey and Jacob Wilklow that were soldiers during the Revolutionary War. Neither were in any battles but that doesn’t matter as they still were ready to fight if they needed to.
I noticed another blog, Genealogy and Family History(.com) has a good posting on Revolutionary War Research. They actually sell books including some on Rev. War research but that shouldn’t stop you from reading their very good advice on researching the soldiers of the War.
If you have a Revolutionary War veteran that died in Western New York, then you should check out the website of the Rochester Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR). They have photos of the graves many Revolutionary War veterans buried in the area.
