Ghosts at the Rochester Public Library?

For many years staff at the Rundel building of the Rochester Public Library have told tales of doors opening and slamming shut by themselves, elevators that would move on their own and creepy figures that seemed to play hide and seek through the dusty shadows of the upper stacks. The stories were dismissed as overactive imaginations for years until modern technology started to reveal something interesting,  24/7 security cameras have repeatedly caught an auditorium door swinging open and closed seemingly on its own.  After witnessing this phenomenon several times and unable to find a suitable explanation for it, the staff called for help.

In late August a team from the SyFy show “Ghost Hunters” came to the library for two nights to see what they could find. The episode airing this Wednesday (Nov. 28th) will show what the the Ghost Hunter team found in the library and also under the library in the old subway bed. It airs at 9:00 & 11:00 p.m. (eastern time) on the SyFy channel. Check your local listings for in other time zones.
