The group was originally named the Three Pennies with lead singer Judy Craig, Patricia Bennett and Barbara Lee. In 1962, they added Sylvia Peterson. Just before “He’s So Fine” was released the group’s named was changed to The Chiffons.

The song was at the number one spot for 4 weeks (March 24 – April 20) on both the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the Cash Box chart.
