Rochester Radio History

old-radioSt. John Fisher College has added a digital collection to the NY Heritage website. The Rochester Radio History collection came from the collection at the Lavery Library at the college. The greater part of the collection consists of the scrapbooks of William Fay. Mr. Fay started out as a singer and announcer on radio station WGY in Schenectady in the mid 1920s. He moved to station WHAM, here in Rochester where by the mid 1930s he had become general manager. The scrapbooks contain newspaper clipping, photographs and even old telegraphs. It is a great collection for showing the early history of WHAM radio.
