The next song to hit the top of the record charts in 1963 was “My Boyfriend’s Back” by The Angels. The song was originally recorded as a demo for The Shirelles, but ended up being released as recorded. The group had a few other minor hits but because of a dispute over the name ended up changing their name to The Halos.

My Boyfriend’s Back” was the top song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 3 weeks; Aug. 25 – Sept. 14th. It was the number one song on the Cash Box record chart for 2 weeks (Sept. 1 – 14).
