There she finds that she is distantly related to a famous Heminway. She is able to trace her ancestry back to Thomas Trowbridge, an idealistic Puritan reformer who left England and came to Boston in the early 1600s. Trowbridge then moves to New Haven, Conn. Trowbridge by 1643 had left New Haven and gone back to England so Ms. Crawford goes to England to find more information.
