There is a new online source from the Rochester Public Library that I never would have thought of searching for. It is a ledger that lists pensions of the Fire and Police Bureaus of Rochester. The ledger covers the time of 1892 to 1945. The records are listed chronologically in columns that contain; the name of the pensioner, date pension was issued, amount given per year, date of original appointment, date of expiration of pension (usually a death date) and a column for remarks. If you have any family that was either a policeman or fireman then check out Pension Records Fire and Police Bureaus, Department of Public Safety.
