FGS Conference

Last week I attended the Federation of Genealogical Societies Conference in Little Rock, Arkansas. So I will be writing about some of the things I saw and heard at the Conference. I missed one news item from Ancestry.com and the New England Historic Genealogical Society. They will be teaming up to  do some records indexing. Then the results will be available for free on Ancestry.com. Neither are saying what records they are indexing.

I saw a few of the more popular genealogy bloggers. Randy Seaver fromGenea-Musings seemed to be everywhere. It is no wonder that he writes so many postings on his blog. Dear Myrtle was sitting in front of me in one presentation taking notes. Dick Eastman (EOGN) sat next to me during one luncheon and we did get to talk briefly before the luncheon speaker. I saw Diane Haddad from Genealogy Insider at the Family Tree Magazine booth more than once. The Genealogy Guys gave a session on blogs and podcasts and recorded a podcast that will be available soon. Most of them have already posted on their blogs about what they did and saw at the Conference.

Got to hear some major speakers and some new ones on interesting topics but more on those in future postings.
