Two genealogy TV programs will be back for second seasons in early 2011.
“Who Do You Think You Are?” is the series that has stories of “celebrities” and their ancestors. For the 2nd season there will only be 8 episodes. Featured will be Gwyneth Paltrow, Tim McGraw, Rosie O’Donnell, Steve Buscemi, Kim Cattrall, Lionel Richie, Vanessa Williams and Ashley Judd. The first episode is on at 8 PM (Eastern) on Feb. 4th on NBC.
If you missed one or more of the 7 episodes from the first season of WDYTYA, you can see them for a limited time via this link. It appears those episodes will only be available until Jan 11th.
The second genealogy program back for a second season is “The Generations Project.” No celebrities on this series. Just common people who want to explore their ancestors and find interesting facts along the way. This series is on the BYUTV channel. That channel is NOT on Time-Warner cable. It is on DishNetwork and DirecTV. There will be a sneak preview episode on Jan. 3rd (time unknown) and the other 12 episodes will be on later in the spring. Lisa Louise Cooke did an interview of Executive Producer Kendall Wilcox on Episode 102 of Genealogy Gems podcast. Go give that podcast a listen for more facts.
If you missed the 13 episodes of first season of “The Generations Project,” you can view them online at “The Generations Project” website.
