114. Francis N. Wilklow was born about 1840 in Steuben Co., NY. Frank bought land in Middlesex in 1872 and sold it in 1875. In both transactions, Frank was described as living in Cohocton, NY. The 1890 census says that Francis was a private in Co. H, 4th NY Heavy Artillery from Aug. 29, 1862 to June 12, 1865. According to Yates County Boys in Blue (p. 103) Francis Wilklow enlisted in Battery H. in Middlesex on Aug. 30, aged 22 (20) years. Mustered in the U. S. service same day and place, created to the Town of Middlesex. Mustered out June 3, 1865 at Alexandria, Va. In 1901 he bought land on Walnut St. in Penn Yan, NY. There is a Frank Wilklow who died 6 Sept. 1906 in Harney Co., Oregon. Is it possible that it is this Frank?

PENN YAN MAN BREAKS LEG
Penn Yan, Jan. 21 - Hardly reaching the sidewalk when leaving his home this morning, Frank WILKLOW, employed at J. Lord & Brothers, slipped on the icy walk and fell, striking on one leg. The leg was broken about two inches above the ankle joint and the joint was dislocated. Several ligaments were somewhat torn. The icy condition of the walks has been responsible for many falls during the past few days, but this is the first serious accident here so far as known.

Frank married Emma E. ----- who was born about 4 April 1849 in Middlesex, Yates Co., NY. She died on 29 February 1896 in Italy, Yates Co., NY.³ She was buried on 2 March 1896 at Maple View Cemetery in Cohocton, Steuben Co., NY.³

Francis N. Wilklow-138 and Emma E. ------312 had the following children:
