14. John Wilklow was born on 23 February 1796 in New Paltz, Ulster Co., NY. He was baptized on 8 March 1796 at New Paltz Reformed Church in New Paltz, Ulster Co., NY. According to the Newburgh Telegraph (16 July 1873 John died 12 July 1873 at Newburgh the Almshouse at about five o'clock in the morning.

John Wilklow is listed in Cochrane's History of Marlborough as living in that area 1816-1825. In 1826 there was a John Wilklow living in New York City but it is not known for sure if this is the same John Wilklow. The 1827 New York City directory has a John Wilklow living at 158 Stanton and his occupation is a dyer. In 1834, John and Marinda Wilklow of Marlboro bought a 1 acre plot of land in Marlboro. In 1837, John and Mariah leased this property. On Feb. 11, 1839, John and Mariah sold their Marlboro property. In the 1860 census John is a farm laborer. In the 1870 census, he and Daniel are laborers. Also both John and Maria are listed as not being able to read or write. On William's death certificate it says his mother was Anne Benson.

Maria ----- was born between 1803 and 1807. She died after 1870.

John Wilklow-16 and Maria ------74 had the following children:

62	ii.	David Wilklow was born about February 1845 in Ulster Co., NY. He died on 18 February 1864 in Marlboro, Ulster Co., NY. He was buried at Riverside Cemetery in Marlboro, Ulster Co., NY.
+63	iii.	Fenton Whitlow.
64	iv.	Daniel Wilklow was born about 1854.
