424. Gladys Whitlow was born in May 1900. She was born on 29 June 1902.²⁸ After her father's death, she was adopted by the Hysen family of Schenectady, NY. Mr. Hysen was an executive with the General Electric Company and was financially comfortable. They were a loving family and Gladys had a happy childhood. Gladys died on 3 December 1974.

Gladys married Merle Arnold Kelafant who was born on 26 June 1900. He died in March 1965 in Schenectady, Schenectady Co., NY.²⁸

Gladys and Merle had these following children:

753	i.	Jeanne Kelafant was born about 1921. She married James Hoagland.
754	ii.	Robert Arnold Kelafant was born on 7 November 1929. He died on 13 December 1969.
755	iii.	Charles W. Kelafant died in 1961. He was a PFC in the Marine Corps.
