Yes, last week I scanned even more issues of Studio Light. That is the magazine from Kodak for Professional photographers.
These are the newly available issues:
- Vol. 11, #9; (Nov. 1919). Kodak is starting to push photographers away from glass plates to film. The featured photographer in this issue has some outside portraits.
- Vol. 11, #10; (Dec. 1919). The featured photographer uses the trick of having a person stand near a window to use natural lighting.
- Vol. 11, #12; (Feb. 1920). On the bottom of the title page it gives a list of publications that Kodak is advertising Easter photography. They are all women’s magazines.
- Vol. 12, #4; (June 1920). This has an article about Eastman Portrait Bromide paper that has a “rich brown” tone, instead of plain black and white.
- Vol. 12, #7; (Sept. 1920). This is special issue with an article about George Eastman visiting Japan. Plus the featured photographer is a Japanese-American doing business in New York City.
- Vol. 12, #9; (Nov. 1920). This has an article on how to build a skylight. Also a longer article on why photographers should use film instead of glass plates.
- Vol. 12, #10; (Dec. 1920). The photos in this issue are from the Eastman School of Professional Photography; and they are all of women.
- Vol. 13, #1; (March 1921). The featured photographer in this issue is Nathan R. Graves from Rochester. He specialized in horticulture photos. So his photos are of flowers, vegetables and gardens.
I still have more issues of Studio Light to scan but this week I will be scanning a church history.
