“You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet” was a big hit for Bachman-Turner Overdrive in late 1974. The group originally consisted of Randy, Robbie, and Tim Bachman, along with Fred Turner. By the time this song was released Tim Bachman had been replaced with Blair Thorton. The group had released “Takin’ Care of Business” in 1973 and it was popular but only got up to #12.
“You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet” was written by Randy Bachman and that is him as lead singer in the video, below. The stutter in the song was originally written just a joke for Randy’s brother, Gary Bachman who has a stutter. They tried to record a version without the stutter but didn’t like the plain sound.
The song was on the top spot of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the week of Nov. 3 – 6. It was #1 on the Cash Box Top 100 chart for the week of Nov. 17 – 23.
