Do you remember this one? It is “I Can Help” by Billy Swan. It was a song that he wrote and it was his only big hit. He was in the music business for a long time. He wrote “Lover Please” that was a big hit for Clyde McPhatter in 1962. He produced “Polk Salad Annie” in 1968 that was a hit for Tony Joe White. Billy also played bass in the back-up band for Kris Kristofferson.

I Can Help was on the top of Cash Box Top 100 list for the week of Nov. 24 – 30. On the Billboard Hot 100 list it was at #1 for two weeks; Nov. 17 – 24.
