Actually this is the last yearbook from Cardinal Mooney High School. Apogee 1989 was the last of 24 yearbooks for the school. A newspaper article from May of 1989 says that greatly decreased enrollment marked the school for closing. That meant they would have suffered a financial lose for the next school year.
Students would have to move to another school in fall ’89. The school would end being bought by the Town of Greece. It is now Odyssey Academy.
If you look at the School Yearbooks Page you will see that there are links to all the yearbooks from Cardinal Mooney. That is the only school for which there is a entire collection of their yearbooks.
Thanks goes out to Betty Nietopski who loaned the yearbook to be scanned. Her husband was a coach at Mooney. In fact, that is him in the left picture.
I also must mention the BIG hair styles that the girls had in the 80s. It seems like some girls were in competition to see who could have the most hair.
