The biggest hit by Captain and Tennille was “Love Will Keep Us Together” (1975) which was written by Neil Sedaka (music) and Howard Greenfield (lyrics). In 1976 they released “Lonely Nights (Angel Face)” which was written by Neil Sedaka (both words and music).

The song got up to #3 on the Billboard chart for three weeks (March 21 – April 10). On the Cash Box chart it was at #1 for the week of March 28 – April 3.

Captain and Tennille had a TV show that last from Sept. 1976 to Mach 1977 (see video). Although ratings were good, it was rumored that they wanted to get out of the weekly routine to tour more.

Captain and Tennille only released 6 albums. The last album being released in 1982.

Toni Tennille filed for divorce from Darryl Dragon (Captain) in 2014. He died in 2019 from Kidney disease.
