Linda Ronstadt had her second hit in 1975 with an old song, “When Will I Be Loved.” The song was written by Phil Everly. The Everly Brothers had a Top 10 hit with the song in 1960. Linda would make the song her own with her great delivery.<\/p>\n
“When Will I Be Loved” got up to #2 on the Billboard<\/em> Hot 100 chart for two weeks (June 15 -28). It got up to the top spot on the\u00a0Cash Box<\/em> Top 100 chart for the week of June 15 – 21.<\/p>\n Linda would release her version of “Heat Wave ” later in 1975. It managed to get up to #5 on the Billboard<\/em> chart.<\/p>\n Linda’s rock-and-roll image was as famous as her music as she appeared six times on the cover of Rolling Stone<\/i> and on the covers of Newsweek<\/i> and Time<\/i>. Linda was said to be the \u201chighest-paid woman in rock\u201d in the late 1970s. In the early 1980s she did a stint as the lead of Gilbert and Sullivan\u2019s The Pirates of Penzance<\/em> plus release more successful albums.<\/p>\n Linda retired in 2011 and in 2013 she revealed she had Parkinson\u2019s disease and could \u201cno longer sing a note.\u201d<\/p>\n
