I discovered that my Roku has a streaming channel that has genealogy programs on 24 hours a day. The channel is called “PBS Genealogy” but unlike normal PBS channels it has an occasional commercial. A lot of the programs are not PBS shows but ones from other sources. Included on the schedule are:
- Long Lost Family, the British version, of which there are 110 half hour programs.
- Generations Project, of which there were 18 episodes.
- Relative Race, has 171 episodes that were originally on BYU-TV.
- Genealogy Roadshow, of which there were 18 episodes originally on PBS.
- Older episodes of Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates (over 100 episodes).
But what if you don’t have a Roku device? Roku makes the channel available to stream for free to anyone from this web page.
