New Uploads

Both this blog and the Monroe County GenWeb were down yesterday afternoon. It lasted about 5 hours. It was a problem with my Internet Service Provider. This is the first issue with downtime in a few years.

I uploaded two new items this last week. First is This Is Rochester from 1947. It was published by the Rochester Chamber of Commerce to promote Rochester. Look at all the industries on page 9. Only a handful still exist. Then on pages 30 & 31 it lists all the transportation available to companies. The Barge Canal terminal is long gone. It mentions using the former subway for transporting goods. Then there is a picture of the Cobourg ferry that closed down in the early 1950s.

Then the other item that I scanned was New Churches in Rochester. It is a few articles with pictures that were in The Catholic Journal of Oct. 8, 1926. Besides pictures of 4 churches there are 3 pictures of the buildings that made up the old St. Bernard’s Seminary and a picture of the former St. Andrew’s Seminary.
