Hit Songs of 1975 – #15

Ringo Starr had a hit with the “No No Song” in 1975. It was written by Hoyt Axton and David Jackson but Ringo made it his own. It got up to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for two weeks (March 30 – April 12). On the Cash Box top 100 list it made it all the way to the top for the week of March 30 – April 5. It also was on the top of the RPM list in Canada.

In the song, the narrator meets a woman from Colombia who offers him marijuana; a woman from Spain, who offers him cocaine; and a man from Nashville, who offers him moonshine. The narrator declines all of them, saying that they are bad for his health

Ringo is 84 years old and recently released his 21st album, Look Up. This album has all country songs. Ringo has always liked country songs and in 1970  released the country album Beaucoups of Blues.

Ringo has just a few tour dates this summer with All Starr Band but the closest to Rochester is a date in Radio City Music Hall in NYC.
