“December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night)” by The Four Season was written by keyboardist Bob Gaudio and his future wife Judy Parker. It was originally going to be about Dec. 1933 and the repeal of Prohibition in the US. Judy Parker changed the lyrics to be about a first date.

The song features drummer Gerry Polci on lead vocals, with Frankie Valli singing the bridge sections and bassist Don Ciccone singing the falsetto part.

The was on the top of the Cash Box for the week of March 14 -20. It was at #1 on the Billboard chart for 3 weeks (March 7 – 27).
