The last hit song of 1973 was also on the top in early 1974. Jim Croce died in an airplane crash in Sept. 1973. Some DJs started playing his song “Time In A Bottle” as a tribute. His record company then released the song on a 45. It was at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for two weeks (Dec. 23, 1973 – Jan. 5, 1974). On the Cash Box Top 100 chart it didn’t get up to number one until the week of Jan. 6 – 12, 1974.

Jim’s son, A. J., has been touring with a show called “Croce Plays Croce.” He has already been to Rochester but he has many more dates around the country including Buffalo and Troy, NY.
