Ohio Players had a hit in 1975 with “Fire.” They were back again in 1976 with a follow-up hit with “Love Rollercoaster.” They supposedly first got together in 1959. Throughout the history of the group there were many changes in the band members. Even after they finally had a couple of hits there were even more changes in the group. Most of the group left in 1980 but the rest of the group limped on for a few more years before calling it quits.

“Love Rollercoaster” got up to #3 for two weeks on the Cash Box chart (Jan. 11 – 24). It was on the top of the Billboard chart for the week of Jan, 25 – 31.
