2 Cookbooks

I was going to scan a history of Rochester General Hospital called A Century of Service: Rochester General Hospital, 1847 – 1947. It was by Virginia Jeffrey Smith and dated 1947. I thought that first I should check the Internet Archive and see if anyone has already scanned it. Yes, it was there and it had been scanned by me in 2017. I don’t know why it wasn’t on the GenWeb site. So I added the above link.

Next choice was to scan was a couple of cookbooks.

A Book of Favorite Recipes  was from Highland Hospital and includes recipes by employees and other staff. It is from 1977. Notice that each of the recipes has the name of the contributor so if you had a family member working at the hospital at that time maybe they could be listed. There are added pages at the back of the book with kitchen helps.

Rochester International Friendship Council Cookbook; Vol. 2 has international recipes. I noticed that at least a couple of the recipes used metric measurements. There is a conversion page at the front of this book. This isn’t dated but it is probably from the 1970s.
