Last week’s project was to scan The 1927 Chesbronian yearbook. That was for the A. M. Chesbrough Seminary and Junior College. You will know it today as Roberts Wesleyan University located in North Chili. For many years it was just a 2 year college. I mentioned it before but the school also included a High School. So there are pictures of college Sophomores and Freshmen and Junior and Senior High School students. Plus on page 47 there are 7 students listed as Junior High.
In 1927 18 students graduated from the college. There are only 10 High School students that graduated that year.

All pages in the yearbook are printed on light yellow colored paper. Then pictures and text are printed with brown colored ink . There is also some gold colored accents. I almost was going to change the pages to black and white but decided against it. It was somewhat difficult but I ended up keeping the colors. The hard part was to get the background colors close to the same shade.
Probably because the brown color ink, a lot of names didn’t end up getting indexed by the OCR software.
I didn’t have any links to the Chesbronian on FamilySearch. I checked and they have added about 17 yearbooks since my last check 6 months ago. So I looked for any other Monroe County yearbooks that were added to FamilySearch. I end up with approximately an additional 200 yearbooks that I added as links on the Yearbooks Page. I think there are now 1,600 yearbooks linked on that page. Most are ones on FamilySearch. I noted that some of the new yearbooks on FamilySearch are ones that I scanned then gave to Rochester Public Library where FamilySearch scanned them. So go to the Yearbooks Page and see if there are some new yearbooks you are interested in.
