1954 Jefferson Yearbook and Rochester Telephone

Boys’ Cooking Class

This time I scanned and uploaded The Statesman, 1954 for Jefferson High School. In the front and rear pages are floor plans of the school at that time.

This yearbook has a few more pages (76) but the class is smaller with just 121 students. There is a page with two photos of grade 8 and another page with two photos of grade 9 but not pictures of grades 10 and 11.

There are pictures of typing, shorthand, cosmetology, and homemaking classes for girls. The boys have electricity, wood shop and leather work classes. I mentioned for the 1953 there was a boys’ cooking class. Here is the picture for 1954.

There are a lot of activities that are well represented and athletics have good size teams.

The Statesman for 1952 and 1953 as well as many other yearbooks are on the Yearbooks web page.

I also scanned The Rochester Telephone Bulletin for Nov. 1926 and Feb. 1927. Those are employee news magazines. These are the only issues that I have for RTC. Rochester Public Library has all issues from 1923 – 1932 filed away in their stacks
