Another Jefferson Yearbook and Irondequoit Pictures

I scanned and uploaded The Statesman, 1953. In the front and rear pages are floor plans of the school at that time.

This is small yearbook at only 68 pages. The class of 1953 included only 148 students. There are two pages with group photos for grade 8 but none of the other grades have pictures.

There are pictures of Latin and Italian classes. The girls have homemaking, cooking, and sewing classes. There is also a picture of a large cooking class for boys. There is also a driver’s education class (see picture). I think that is the earliest high school class in driver’s education that I have ever seen. Those students are driving a Ford Mainline.

There are a lot of activities that are well represented and athletics have good size teams.

I also scanned Early Irondequoit which is large booklet with 84 early pictures of people and places in the Town of Irondequoit. Walter Sassaman is the author of the text accompanying  the pictures. He was the Town Historian for Irondequoit when this booklet was published in 1976.
