St. Paul’s Alter
Last week I scanned St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Rochester, NY; A History of the First 150 Years. I think you get the idea that it is a history of the church. This one was published in 1977 and edited by Vincent S. Jones. This church also published a history in 1927 with the even longer name of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Rochester, N. Y.; A Brief History of the First Hundred Years of Rochester’s Second Episcopal Parish. That one was scanned by the Rochester Public Library.
I also scanned some menus from (mostly) local restaurants
Menu from Hearth and Embers, Rochester; Aug. 18, 1961
Menu from Casa Lorenezo’s, Rochester (probably from the late 1950s)
Menu from The Manhattan, Rochester; June 21, 1957
Menu from Maplewood Inn, Rochester; May 24, 1961
Menu from Sibley’s Tower Restaurant, Rochester; Sept. 26, 1957
Menu from Treadway Inn, Rochester; Jan. 26, 1957
Menu from Glen Iris Inn in Letchworth Park, Wyoming County; Oct. 18 – 19, 1958. This would have been a nice day trip from Rochester to eat and view the waterfalls in the park.
I spent the longest time last week on Merry Old Mobiles on Parade which I put on Archive.org. It is a history of early automobiles with pictures and cartoons. It was published in 1951 and the author, Hi Sibley, appears to have drawn some cartoons for automobile magazines in the 1910s.
I have had this book for at least 5 years and always wanted to scan it to preserve for future generations. It was printed on cheap paper and on some of the picture you might see some bleed-through from the backs of the pages.
