Let’s Disco!

The only hit for The Hues Corporation was 1974’s “Rock the Boat.” It was originally released in 1973 to not much response. Then the song became a disco favorite in New York City. The producers went back to the studio and remixed the song to boost the bass and rhythm instruments. That did it! It started quickly climbing in radio station airplay.

The song was at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the week of June 30 – July 6. The next week it was on the top of the Cash Box Top 100 chart. The group never had another hit song. They finally disbanded in 1980.
