The Bees Gees had a few lean years. “Jive Talking'” was their first hit since “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart” (1971). The song was on their 1975 album  Main Course as well as on the 1977 Saturday Night Fever soundtrack album. The Disco era was good the the brothers.  In the early 80s each of them was doing their own material. They would get back together again in the late 80s. They would then stay as a group until Maurice Gibb died unexpectedly in 2003 from a heart attack. Robin would died in 2012 from liver cancer. Barry Gibb last toured in 2017.

“Jive Talkin'” was on the top of the Cash Box chart for the week of Aug. 3 – 9. It was #1 on the Billboard chart for 2 weeks (Aug. 3 – 14).
