Hit Songs of 1975 – #46

The Eagles had a big hit with “Lyin’ Eyes.” The song was written by Don Hendley and Glenn Frey and that it Glenn on the lead vocal. The group received a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Performance by a Duo, Group or Chorus for this song. The song was also nominated for the Grammy for Record of the Year but lost to “Love Will Keep Us Together.”

The song got up to #3 on the Cash Box chart for the week of Oct. 19 – 25. On the Billboard chart it got up to #2 for two weeks (Nov. 2 – 15).

Even though the song could be considered country rock, I remember it being played on WCMF and WPXY.

This is the short version of the song that would be played on the radio. The album version was 2 minutes longer.
