Pictures are Back

Finally!

The pictures on the GenWeb site have been restored. They were gone about three weeks. I’m not sure what happened but the database program that runs in the background on the website got corrupt. I think it was something that I did to mess it up, but I’m not really sure.

Part of the reason that it took so long to get restored was the holidays. I am fairly sure that the Support person I was dealing with was on vacation for at least a week. Then I pay so little for my website that I am way down on priority list. I haven’t got an official message back from Support yet. Usually I don’t understand their technical explanation.

It is amazing how many views the pictures get. In Jan. 2018 there were a little over 400,000 views. It increased all year and in November the total views were 1,620,000. Some of those views are by “bots.” Some of the “bots” are indexing the pictures, like Google. And speaking of Google; they sent me a message last week that said they were having trouble locating that part of the website. I can log in to a special part of Google and tell them that it is working again.
