Old News – Summer Fairs

An announcement from 1969 of a fair in Fairport should remind you that this year there all kinds of events for you to attend this summer. Neighborhood fairs, fireman’s carnivals, large festivals, etc. all  have many kinds of entertainment both big and small. Summer doesn’t last long enough so get out and enjoy it.

The old newspaper article had a picture of Trio Angelos that was impossible to make out. I got this better picture of this circus act from the Yesterday’s Towns blog. Not sure where he got the picture from.

They will also have at their stores “Kiddie tickets” for a dollar which will permit children to ride all they want on Friday afternoon from 1 to 5 p.m. Stores will also have advance books which provide a $2 value in tickets for one dollar. Watch for signs in participating store windows..

A fireworks display is slated for Friday night and Saturday, the grand parade starting at 7 p.m. and sponsored by the Fairport Fire Department.

The exciting drawing for the 1969 Camaro, courtesy of Hoselton Chevrolet is scheduled as the closing event on Saturday night.
