Blood, Sweat and Tears is back for their second hit song of 1969 with “Spinning Wheel.” They were here earlier this year with “You’ve Made Me So Very Happy.” The group was formed in 1967 and changes members very frequently. I have seen that anywhere between 120 and 165 people have been in the group over the years.
“Spinning Wheel” made it up to the #2 spot on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Record World 100 Top Pops for the weeks of July 6 – 19, 1969. The song was on the album just titled “Blood, Sweat & Tears.’ That album won the Grammy for album of the year in 1970.
The group in it’s current iteration is coming to the NY State Fair on Aug. 27th. It will be a 2 p.m. show at the Chevrolet Court which is free with admission to the Fair. Also on the 27th admission is free to seniors aged 60 and over. The parking charge will remain the same at $5 per auto.
