Creedence Clearwater Revival was back with another hit song in 1970 with “Lookin’ Out My Back Door.” John Fogerty said that he wrote the song for his young son after reading a Dr. Seuss’ book.
The song got up to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for just the week of Sept. 27 – Oct. 3. On the Cash Box Top 100 chart it was the number one song for the same week.
Creedence only existed for 4 years (1968 – 1972). They remain popular to this day. Their compilation album Chronicle The 20 Greatest Hits currently sits at #44 on the Billboard Top 200 album list.
