This article states that the Greece Athena school is having their official dedication. From information on other web pages it appears that the school opened in fall of 1969. It is probable that the school opened before it was completed.

Greece Athena Dedication Set For Sunday, April 26
Greece Athena High School, 800 Long Pond Road, will be formerly dedicated by the Greece Central School District No. 1 Board of Education on Sunday April 26, at 2 P.M. The building will be open from 1 to 5 P.M. for general public inspection.
The public dedication will be held in the school’s first floor gymnasium, which will hold approximately 2,500 persons. The dedication program will include a musical prelude by the Athena High School Band, directed by Mr. Gareth Greene. Call to Colors, trumpter, Frederick Thompson; Invocation, The Reverend Theodore Georgian; Opening Remarks by John J. Woods, President of the Board of Education; Ceremonial Music, commissioned for this occasion, composed by Dr. Warren Benson of the Eastman School of Music and performed by the Athena Band; Presentation of Key by Mr. Donald Faragher, architect, Faragher & Macomber and accepted by Mr. Donald Haefele, Principal, George Streb, Senior Representative and Dean Thompson; Junior High Representative; Dedication by John J. Woods; Dedicatory Prayer by The Reverend Neil Miller.
At the conclusion of the program, there will be an open house for persons to tour the building with students, available, as tour guides. Faculty and staff will also be in their class rooms and special areas.
The Greece Athena High School is the third high school of the Greece Central School District No. 1. It’s name was adopted by the Board of Education in the fall of 1967. Athena was a major Greek goddess from classical Greek mythology, the goddess of Wisdom and Power. She was the protectoress of Athena, which was named after her. Athena is referred to as the cradle of democracy, center of culture and learning and the birthplace of Western Civilization
Greece Athena, a three story junior-senior high school building on a 66 acre plot, is capable of handling 3,00 students. The present enrollment is approximately 1,465 students in grades 7-11. In 1970-71, it will include a 12th grade, which increase the student body to 1,800. The class of ’71 will be its first graduating class.
In addition to a general public invitation, special invitations have been sent to various local, county and state educators and officials and to numerous educational and civic organizations.
